For James Kennedy. Cotton [?] mill, Manchester. This 30 horse engine was a "shortened" version of the 32 horse power engine, for example see A. & E. Austin's, Portfolio 5/480 above. The concern later became James Kennedy & Co. A new mill was later built alongside this one circa 1844, powered by two 25 horse independent engines [see Portfolio 5/842]. |
