514. Phoenix Mill, Manchester (OU). Apr. 1836. 13 items. 80 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 44 inch cylinder, 7 foot stroke, parallel motion, [cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod].
Coloured original cross -section of 4 boilers and steam pipes, plan of the engine and boiler houses and chimney and proposed second engine, cross-section of the engine house - these 3 drawings were sent to Boulton Watt & Co. by Wren & Bennett, and the first 2 have been given letter codes; memorandum by William Bennett accompanying the drawings. Also plans of the various stonework courses within the engine house, as follows: 1st course of masonry over the tunnel, 2nd - 6th courses of stonework, 7th course of masonry, 8th and 9th or top courses of stonework.
