For the British Plate Glass Co., Ravenhead, near Prescot. This was an alteration of a 30 horse power independent engine with a 31 inch cylinder and 3 foot stroke, made by Nasmyth. Boulton Watt & Co. fitted a 45 horse power cylinder (34½ inch) and a 45 horse size power air pump and condenser. The alteration was just before Boulton Watt & Co. supplied a 38 horse power independent engine, which was erected alongside this one [see Portfolio 5/838].
