Description36 horse power sun & planet engine, with 31 inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion.

Includes reverse general view of the engine (this section is not as detailed as the usual sections), reverse plans and sections of the framing, engine, boiler; reverse sections of the engine house; parallel motion - reverse drawing marked "See letter to Mr. Rennie, the 1 Nov. 1790"; working gear - partially coloured reverse front and side views; gudgeon and plummer blocks, condenser vessels, nozzles marked "nearly the same as Albion Mill" and "redrawn new March 6 1792, see AOS 31 35" (all reverse drawings); plans and sections of rolling mill apparatus [for drawings of the earlier rolling apparatus of Folliot Scott & Co. see Portfolio 5/13]; detailed coloured ground plan of the foundry.

For Robert Gardner, William Manser and company, King & Queen Foundry, Rotherhithe. Gardner Manser & Co. took over the King & Queen Foundry from Folliot Scott & Co. circa 1789. This engine replaced the 10 horse engine installed by Scott. The firm later became Gardner & Howard.
