Single-acting engine, with 58 inch cylinder, 8 foot stroke, chain connection. New working gear added 1778.

For Francis Parrott of Hawkesbury, Thomas Whieldon of Fenton, Rev. John Fernyhough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, George Taylor of Bedworth. Hawkesbury Colliery, Bedworth, near Coventry, Warwickshire. This engine was usually referred to as "The Bedworth Engine". The engine was extensively altered and moved to Exhall Colliery in 1788-1789 - see below.
