Two 80 horse power crank engines, with 44 inch cylinders, 7 foot strokes, parallel motions, cast iron beams, cast iron connecting rods.

Initial designs and proposals: Coloured side views of pumping engine with a 54 inch cylinder working a 48 inch pump and a blowing engine with a 60 inch cylinder working a 70 inch blowing cylinder and air vault, Feb. 1827; coloured side view by William Creighton of 36 inch pump with 4 foot stroke, showing small beam, water levels etc., Mar. 1827; coloured plan by William Creighton of 2 engines with 8 foot strokes working 6 pumps, Apr. 1827; outline side view of 36 inch pump with 5 foot stroke.
Reverse drawings, Jun. 1827: plan of the engine and boiler houses, longitudinal section of engine house and a boiler, cross-section of the engine house, view of 2 of the pumps and suction pipe, cross-section of the boilers, plan of the pumps.
Drawings marked "Copied from Drawings sent by Mr. Telford Oct. 1827": "Plan of a Steam Engine for supplying water to the Lock" showing lock, engine house, basin etc., with sections of the coal vaults, discharging pipe and lock on the same sheet; sections of the lock, culverts, pipes etc. (These drawings were copied in the London office).
Reverse drawings made in the London office, Jan. 1828: plan of the engine and boiler houses, cross-section of the engine house, longitudinal section of the engine house and a boiler, cross-section of the boiler house and boilers, longitudinal section of a boiler showing the chimney.
Components etc.: part of rough sketch of a pump rod (this drawing was originally made for Glasgow Water Works, half of it has been torn away); section and plan of a pump and stop valve etc., pump beams and parallel motion etc., shafts and cranks and connecting rods etc. - original and reverse drawings; 3 sheets of rough sketches of the pump beams, plummer blocks, connecting rods etc.; undated list of wrought iron items required for connecting rods; suction and delivering pipes; plan of the pumps, shafts etc. - original and reverse copies (half of the original has been torn away); plan of the lock pump; plan and elevation of feeding pipes to boiler and tank; shafts [?]; plans and sections of the tank pump - original and reverse drawings; sketch of gearing, governor spindle etc.; coloured undated external elevation of engine house. Most of the drawings bear letter codes.
