| Description | Bell Crank Engines (1 item). 6 horse power bell crank engine, with 16 inch cylinder, 2 foot stroke.
Partially coloured reverse side view of engine and boiler and chain pump, and plan showing two engines, boiler, chain pump, shafts etc. The sheet bears a letter code and is marked "J. L. Baraillier, Milford Haven".
Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 549. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 254.
For the Commissioners of the Navy. Pumping engine, Prince of Wales Island, East Indies. Engine Order Book No. 5 notes that this engine was made up from parts of two engines ('w' and 'x') originally ordered by Bough Hollingsworth & Dyson. However the Small Engine Book says that this engine was the complete second one made for Bough Hollingsworth & Dyson. This engine book and The List of Engines made at Soho list one 6 horse engine being sent, so it would appear that the drawing showing a plan for two engines was not adopted.
