912. Timperon & Dobinson, Jamaica (ZBW). Mar. 1815, Oct. 1833. 3 items. 10 horse power independent crank engine, with 19¾ inch cylinder, 2½ foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.
Reverse cross-section of the engine and boiler, side view of the engine, longitudinal section of boiler, plan of the engine and boiler (4 drawings on 1 sheet); plan of the engine, boiler and sugar mill and front and side views of the mill - coloured drawing marked "No. 1" and "received with Messrs. Timperon & Dobinson's letter 3 Mar. 1815" (the drawing is marked on the back in pencil "New Ramble Estate"). The reverse drawing bears a letter code. Also coloured drawings of hand pump, breeze pump, crank shaft, crosses etc. by William Murdock (nephew of William Sr.), Oct. 1833.
