959. H. Hicks & Sons, Eastington (DX). Oct. 1816, Jul. 1818. 3 items. 10 horse power independent crank engine, with 19¾ inch cylinder, 2½ foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod. Also steam heating apparatus.

All the drawings bear letter codes.

For H. Hicks & Sons. Churching Mills, Eastington, near Stroud, Gloucestershire. The firm later became Hicks Bros., and bought other Boulton Watt & Co. engines [see Portfolios 5/474, 5/500, 5/979]. Hicks Bros. were declared bankrupts in 1835.
