Five 10 horse power independent crank engines, with 19¾ inch cylinders, 2½ foot strokes, parallel motions, cast iron beams, cast iron connecting rods.

Reverse side view of the engine, plan of the engine and boiler, cross-section of the engine house and boiler, longitudinal section of the boiler. Both sheets bear letter codes.

Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 730. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 228, 230.

These drawings were used for five separate engines. Henry Hazleton assigned separate portfolio numbers to the engines despite the fact that there were no individual drawings for them. The engines were as follows:
Bolton & Littledale, New Orleans (EV) [Hazleton's Portfolio 966].
Sugar plantation [?] engine ordered by Bolton & Littledale of Liverpool. The original drawings for this engine were made in Mar. 1818.
James Law, Grenada (EW) [Hazleton's Portfolio 967].
For G. G. Munro, Pearl Estate, Grenada. Sugar plantation engine ordered by James Law of 29 Great Winchester St., London. The original drawings for this engine were made in Oct. 1818.
Ambrose Humphreys, Jamaica (EX).
For Orange Hill, Jamaica. Sugar plantation engine ordered by Ambrose Humphreys of Harpur St., Red Lion Square, London. The original drawings for this engine were made in Oct. 1818. Humphreys' engine only used the plan and side view from this set of standard drawings. Separate cross-sections were made for him and these are in a separate portfolio.
Frederick G. Carmichael, Jamaica (FL) [Hazleton's Portfolio 968].
Sugar plantation [?] engine ordered by Frederick G. Carmichael of Twickenham, Middlesex. The original drawings for this engine were made in Nov. 1818.
Thwaites Trecothick & Co., Jamaica (IF).
For the Boston & Buckinghamshire Estate, Jamaica. Sugar plantation engine ordered by Thwaites Trecothick & Co. of London. The original drawings for this engine were made in Jun. 1829. Henry Hazleton did not allocate a portfolio number to this engine, but listed it on p. 230 of the Catalogue of Old Engines.
