989. Edward Ellice, Demerara (GC). May, Jun. 1824. 4 items. 10 horse power independent crank engine, with 19¾ inch cylinder, 2½ foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod. Power increased to 13 horses 1840. Also liquor pump.
Reverse longitudinal section of the engine house, plan of the engine and boiler, longitudinal section of the boiler, cross-section of the engine house and boiler. Both sheets bear letter codes. Also two coloured drawings of liquor pump, Jun. 1824 (one is marked "This pump and gearing schemed by H[ollins] Hunt."
