| Description | 65. Oscillating Engines - H. M. Steam Sloop Trident (JP & JQ). Feb., Apr., Oct. 1845, Jul.-Oct. 1846. 10 items. Two 175 horse power oscillating engines, with 70¾ inch cylinders, 5 foot strokes.
Upper headstock frame - coloured drawing; expansion valve, safety valve gearing, disengaging apparatus for the paddle wheels, stays for the hot water cistern - partially coloured drawings; expansion gear - coloured drawing; plan and section of the packing press; blow through cocks etc. - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings; memorandum "Rough Weights of parts of JP, JQ…". Most of the drawings were made in the London office.
For H. M. Navy. The Trident was built by Ditchburn & Mare of Orchard Yard, Blackwall. She was broken up in 1866.
