James Ward’s own account of himself. NB. James Ward taken upon trial for a month from 3 Sep. 1827. James Ward was taken upon an agreement of apprenticeship for 7 years at 9/- per week in board during the 1st year and to rise 1/- a week at the end of each year; to receive 6d per week for pocket money and be allowed £12 per annum for clothes during the first 3 years and £15 per annum during the 4 last. 13 Aug. 1832. The remaining years of the above term were given up and he entered into a new agreement for 5 years at £70, 75, 80, 85 and 90. He was 22 years old on 25 Jul. 1832."
