There is a bundle wrapper with ‘Miscellaneous 1805,’ in black ink. To this, ‘No 1 to 59’, has been added in red ink.
The letters are numbered in red ink. Two have not been numbered. There are, in addition, 7 unnumbered enclosures. The arrangement of letters was neither alphabetical nor chronological. There is one letter is dated 1803, and two letters are dated 1806.
The bundle has therefore been re-arranged into alphabetical order by correspondent and chronological order within an individual’s correspondence.
