| Description | These letters have been removed from a bundle of miscellaneous papers belonging to Watt and to James Watt jr. previously in the Muirhead papers.
There are three letters from Sir Joseph Banks and one from Dr. Blagden. All concern the reading of a letter from Watt to Joseph Priestley of 21 Apr. 1783 to the Royal Society; the reading of a paper by Watt and its subsequent publication. Dr Blagden was secretary of the Society.
The letters have dockets of correspondent and date but only one has a summary by Watt, given in italics.
