19 March 1811. Watt has written on the cover sheet: 'The order of the letters reversed, consequently this is the last in the parcel'. Congratulations on his approaching marriage. Shall be glad to receive com[missione]rs' attested plan of exchanges. Objection to mixing big quicks & small ones. Caution about purchases on the common. 30 March 1811. Mention letter from H. Scott informing me he had applied to the Com[missione]rs of Q[ueen] Anne's Bounty about exchanges, who will appoint Com[missio]n to enquire into them if required. My doubts on that mode of proceeding. Object to J. Welsh being put in charge for me anywhere. Beardsmore's being here & my wish to employ him. G. Evans also might be employed. If he cannot get [a] proper person I will write to Scotland for one. 14 April 1811. Thought he had fully settled with Mr Blax[lan]d before now. Am not disposed to alter Beaumont's lease. Hopes he has not made the division fence with B[urn]thouse allotment until exchanges are settled. Has not informed me of the result of his correspondence with Mr Ross on that head. Shall write to Scotland for a bailiff. |
