04 June 1815. To James Crummer : Mean to set out for London on next Tuesday. Shall thank him to settle what should be given for Badland Manor & get Mr Davies to bid for it by his agent, but not to offer more than £500 for it. Hope he has got some money from Ferrier. Of a letter wrote from London June 24th no copy was kept. 20 July 1815.To James Crummer : Have rec[eive]d his letter of the 6th only yesterday. Account of J. Miller's death prevented sooner notice of it. State of Farming becoming more & more discoiuraging but I would wish to purchase the Bach if I could sell Stonehouse etc. If Gladestry farms cannot be let they must be sold. Wish for his opinion as to price they might fetch at present & if you think there is any probability of selling them. Am obliged to go into Scotland about some urgent business & shall set out about the first of the month. 21 July 1815. To James Davies: Informing him that Broadheath M[or]tgage deeds are with Messrs. Weston & Teesdale, who have my directions about them when M[or]tgage is wanted to be transferred. Want to know whether the whole sum is to remain or only the [£]3.000. Shall be glad to hear from him & request his opinion about a good tenant for Stonehouse, or if it could be sold. Kenvas & Tycwtta query. |
