| Description | Miscellaneous receipts and accounts. The bundle label, in black ink, reads: 'Rec[ei]pts & Accounts To June 1801. 1797 to 1801.' 'No. 1 to 60' has been added in red ink and 'Ex[amine]d 15 Nov. 1804' has been added in the hand of James Watt jr. The papers were numbered in red. There were two with no number, one between nos. 57 and 58 and one between nos. 59 and 60. Nos. 56 and 57 are booklets of folded paper sewn together. One contains a record of cash received in 1797, expenses, travelling expenses and letter costs for 1797 - 1798. The other contains money received and spent in 1797, notes on Aeschylus, expenses at college, a list of inns between Carlisle and Manchester, etc. There are two letters, one unnumbered from Mr Sievers (London) and one numbered 60 from John Woodward to Gregory Watt, concerning Matthew Boulton's account with Mr Deriabin for sets of crystals etc. |
