DescriptionIn 1833 an Act was passed for making a railway from Warrington to Birmingham. In 1834, the Railway Company applied to extend the line, by routing it through the south west corner of Aston Park, infringing the Parliamentary Protection of Parks. This application was contested by James Watt jr. and the proprietors of Aston Park.
