Soho 1 Jul: 1842.
John Coles Symes Esqre.
My dear Sir
I had the pleasure to send off the Probate of Mr. Boulton's will at ¼ past 2 this afternoon, registered at the Offices of the Shropshire and of the Dudley Canal Companies, as before at the Birmingham.
I will enter the £300, advised in your favor of yesterday's date, to the debit of Mr. Boulton's Private Acct.
You mention Mr. Boulton having drawn £30. I presume you do not mean that side of any of the personal Accounts to come under my notice, but that I am acting as Bookkeeper only for the Executors. The only Bank book I believe, which I alluded to on the 24th: Ulto. was the Deposit Acct. Book about which you made enquiry when here. That I believe to be at the Bank or with Mr. Jones Wilkinson's papers. The others came down as a matter of course, on the 6th. (Wednesday) and every fortnight afterwards and, if you please, the Executors Bank book can accompany them. The old book, the Cash Balance of which is transferred to the New Acct. will be retained here the next time it comes down: it was . . . [The copy is incomplete.]
