| Description | Soho 17 Jan: 1843 Thos. Jones Wilkinson Esqr. Hartford Sir, The Cheque for £500.. received yesterday in your favor of 15th Instt. has been duly forwarded to Mr. Langdon, & the entry in the books here has been made with regard to the distinction you have pointed out. A portion of Baldock's Mortgage money with Interest, together amounting to £11745..12..7 has been placed to credit of Acct. of the Executors at Bank of England & particulars furnished me by Mr. Langdon. Mr. Westley has informed me verbally that he shall require a supply of Cash at the end of the Week: The same Balance of £64. 6. 1 remains in my hands. I could wish that as regards these supplies, the rule made by the late Mr. Boulton were adhered to, viz: that Mr. Westley every Monday Morning should furnish me on a slip of paper with the amount required for the current week. The house Agent could then take care to keep up a good Balance for contingencies & I should neither be overdrawn nor be left with such an amount as I now hold. If this could be arranged without offence or inconvenience I should be saved much unpleasantness. I am Sir Your mo obt. Humb Servant C: J: Chubb |
