| Description | INTRODUCTION A file of calculations, memoranda, papers and printed material relating to steam engines. Where this material was originally kept is unclear, as no matching file is listed in any of the contemporary catalogues. The papers were found along with several much later items in the box numbered MBP 344. This had been titled "Memorandam, Steam Engines," which may reflect its original title. Among the printed papers are copies of James Watt’s 1769 specification, the 1775 Act of Parliament extending his patent, and printed forms for engine agreements. |
