Articles of Agreement between Messrs. Boulton & Smiths & Lander.
[Sets out the agreement between the parties to make shoe fastenings under the patent dated 7 Sep. 1792, ‘commonly called elastic shoe Latchets which they ornament with gold silver plated metals steel & other substances but not with that kind of ornamental and artificial stonework called Jewelry, and whereas the said John Lander hath found out & discovered a Method of rendering such Jewelry flexible by which means it may be used to mount or ornament such Elastic Shoe Latchets without injury to their elasticity…’ The trade is to be carried on in the name of Boulton, Smith & Lander.] |
