| Description | (This Item is a hardback notebook with a brown suede cover. On the front cover and the spine there is the year '1775' written in black ink. The notebook contains loose pages at the front and back. On the inside cover there is a list of mathematical symbols underneath the date 'December 23rd 1775.' The notebook has no apparent structure as notes on completely different subjects share the same page and the majority have no title or heading. Certain pages of notes do have headings such as 'Guns for a dead mark', ' Viz. Inertia' and 'To make Copal varnish.' Within the notes there are also pages of accounts and calculations as well as diagrams and sketches. |
