| Description | 'January 1785.' (This item is a small hardback notebook with a green cover. On the cover is written the preceding inscription. The notebook contains observations, calculations, diagrams and accounts all relating to engines and mining. The notebook contains pages of notes such as; 'Iron Trade' and 'For Rolling Hoops.' Enclosed in the notebook are three items. The first is an account of various mines. The second is a slip with a series of calculations on. The third is a newspaper cutting that reads; 'The copper works belonging to the Crown only have turned out so exceedingly advantageous this year, that no less than one million six hundred thousand rix-dollars have been cleared on the exportation, since the 20th of March last.') |
