| Description | (Directed to William Matthews’, 6 Green Lettice Lane. On the outside are a few rough notes by Boulton respecting flour.) Dear Father, I received your obligeing letter in due time, informing me of the oranges beeing at Colchester, which I sent for and received all safe, for which pray return Mr. Chapman many thanks. I am glad to hear that the Albion Mill surpasses your expectation, as I suppose it will ease you of some part of your burthen [of] business and confirm your opinion. I find by my sister that you enter into the spirit of it and are become quite a miller. I received the arrows quite safe, which have afforded me much entertainment, for which I return many thanks. I lately took a pleasant jaunt to Ipswich [with] Mr. Parlby, where I saw the college built by Cardinal Wolsey and the other curiosities of that town. Give my compliments to Mr. and Mrs. Matthews and all other friends. I remain, dear father, your dutiful son, Matthew B. Boulton [Edited transcript.]
