| Description | (Directed to the Post Office. Redirected to Carron, Falkirk.) Dear Papa I suppose you have been taken up with bussiness has you have not answer’d my letters, but as I know a letter from me at anytime does give you satisfaction. I do not wait for an answer. Yesterday Mrs Vere call’d to see me and told me that Mr Matthews had receiv’d a Letter and that you was on your journey to Edingbourgh where I suppose you are by this time. I have sent a Letter to my sister and have just receiv’d an answer in which she says she will write to you on Thursday next. And have also receiv’d a letter from Zacky but he mentions nothing particular in it. I have seen Mr & Mrs Matthews but I cannot say they was both well as Mr Matthews had the complaint in his eye return’d a little and Mrs Matthews was very low spirited. Mr Stretch has forbid every [boy] under fourteen writing without his seeing but as I am almost that and our correspondence is no harm I don’t think he would be against it. I have nothing more to say at present but which my school will furnish which is not much. I remain Dear Papa Your dutiful Son Mattw R Boulton Twickenham Octr 10 1783
