TitleLetter. Matthew Robinson Boulton (Langensalza) to Matthew Boulton (Birmingham).
LevelItem
Date21 December 1789
DescriptionDear Father,
Mr. Sulz, a physician from Gotha and acquaintance of Mr. Wiegleb, travelling to England in the view to visit the curiosities of that land, will deliver you this letter. I profited of this occasion to shew my acknowledgement as lover of science, and particularly of those branches for whose present flourishing state we are so much indebted to this country.
The labours of every scientifick man are directed to one end (the discovery of the truth); this they will certainly sooner attain conjunctly than singly; in this design I am sure you will do your utmost endeavours to promote the views of Mr. Sulz, by which you will infinitely oblige your dutiful son,
Mattw. R. Boulton
