As I know it always gives you satisfaction & especially when you have the pleasure to hear of my being so happily situated unde[r] the care of so worthy a man as Mr Parelby whose whole attention is given to improve the minds of his scholars & that with ease & happiness to themselfes; and not only that but also but beeing in the Company of such amiable young Gentlemen as Mr Deans & the rest of Mr Parlebys pupils.
I construe Latin every day in week for my employment except Friday which is the day appointed for Arethmetick & Geography. I shewd Mr Parelby Mr Taylors Arethmatick which he approved of much. & whishes to know your sentiments of it as he thinks he shall use it in his school.
I have got quite clear of my cold and am in every respect very well. I have not yet receive[d] my linen which I leave behind supposeing you had not had time to send it which I shall be very glad to receive.
I must conclude with giving my many thanks to Mr & Mrs Matthews for the favours I have receiv’d of them. with my Love to my Sister & compliments to Capn Bainbridge.
