TitleLetter. Matthew Robinson Boulton (Soho) to Matthew Boulton (London).
LevelItem
Date24 August 1792
Description(Directed to Charlotte Matthews’, 6 Green Lettice Lane.)
Dear Father,
Inclosed is the only letter of consequence arrived since your departure. Its contents are not very intelligable to me. To supply him with plated scrap, charging him with the value of the silver only, after it is melted down, I should not suppose a very lucrative trade. Mr. Walker will forward you a letter from Mr. Lee, respecting Schmitti and some other unknown person. With respect to Schmitti no further answer, except to thank Mr. Lee, is necessary, he being already provided for. Mr. Breda left us to day, and has taken lodgings in Birmingham, but I am afraid he will meet with little encouragement there; his talents are of a too superior nature to be justly rated by the amateurs of this town.
My sister is well, as also the rest of the familly. Wishing this may find you in perfect health, I remain your dutiful son,
Mattw. R. Boulton
PS. The plan of the manufactory for the insurance office is forwarded by tonight’s coach.
