DescriptionSir,
On receipt of your letter yesterday, I told Mr. Busch he must set out on that evening, but he could not be prepared so soon, particularly as you wanted some clean struck pieces of 36 and 46 per lb., of which you have herewith 60 pieces of 36 per lb. and 24 pieces of 46 per lb. Mr. Busch will set off by this evening's Dog coach, which will stop at the Green Man and still Oxford Street; he has full directions, but if you could spare Jarvis he could meet him there.
Yesterday evening, and for a good part of the night, there was a kind rain which the ground drank up without losing a drop, and will prove more refreshing than all the watering man can give it. Tho' dry at present, the clouds indicate more rain, which will also be very acceptable.
We had above 10 ton of halfpence to coin from last night; what must be done with the people when all is coined up?
I am, sir,
Your very humble obliged servant,
Wm. D. Brown
Soho. July 9, 1800
