Dear Friend,
I wrote to Mr. Carles as by copy enclosed, and this morning he has shewn me copies of two letters of thanks he had wrote to the Marquis of Stafford, and of one to Mr. Legg. To the latter he had said that he did not see any objection to his own name being used, but that he was willing to have that of his son's used, if that was thought more proper, and that his son's name was John Henry. He will by this post send Lord Stafford the letter I wrote to him yesterday, and say the same to his Lordship as he had before wrote to Mr. Legg.
