Since I wrote to you yesterday I see by the Star of yesterday's date that Government have (it is said) contracted with the India Company for all the saltpetre they may import untill the end of the year 1796. If you have opportunity, I wish you would be so good as to enquire of some of your friends at the India House whether it is realy true, as it may be very material to your grateful and affectionate friend,
