| Description | (Dated at half past seven o'clock, Wednesday night.) Dear Friend, Since I sent two letters to the Post Office a Mr. Collins of the house of Smith & Collins has been with me from Mr. Williams, who wishes to see me. As I now know your mind fully, and as Williams has sent to me, I think you had better not write to him. I find he is expected here on Thursday night. I think I shall manage it to our satisfaction. This Collins seems very able and shrewd. I am ever most affectionately and gratefully yours, S. G. Notwithstanding what I write, do as you think proper as to writing to Williams; only send me copy.
