Description(Directed on the address-label to Matthew Boulton, "à sa main propre.")

Gentlemen,
I wish this may find you and both your families in perfect health. It is almost two years since I had the favour to receive the annuall ballance, which I should have every year to see thereby how the business goes on, but I am without this favour. Therefore I must take the liberty to request this of you by next occasion, for every one dares to know how our conjuncted partnership and business goes. In expectation I take the liberty to salut you and both your families, and am with due regard your most obedient humble servant,
J. H. E.
I hope you will keep you[r] word in giving me for the argent moulu buttons.
