DescriptionSir,
I had the honor to write to you a few days ago enclosing a letter of Mr. Magellan's, &c., which I hope you have received. By direction of Mr. Fothergill I now enclose a letter from Sayer & Bennett for your inspection. As we cannot make out that said parcel or prints have been receiv'd at Soho, must beg (if an opportunity offers) that you will learn the particulars. We have writ to said gentlemen that we are ignorant of the reception, and have desired them to give you an account of the particulars.
I have pack'd up some pieces of or moulu to day and sent to town; the rest that are intended to be sent will be pack's and sent off to morrow. I shall give you an account of them in a day or two. As there are many Penelopes and Calypsos finish'd, as well as or moulu frames, I purpose to send a pair for tryal, which, if they sell and you approve of sending more, more can be immediately expedited. The Calypso you order'd for Lord Macclesfield was sent the 27th ultimo to care of Mr. Stuart. Mr. Dyott has in his possession (which we sent him as a specimen of workmanship and color of gilding) a wainscot clock case No. 308 at 14 guineas, which presume he has yet undisposed of, in which case probably you will deem it right to have it at No. 149.
I am with the greatest respect, sir, your much obliged and most obedient humble servant,
John Hodges
