| Description | Sir, I beg leave to confirm my last to you of the 25th instant. Above is an account of the sales this last week. Several genteel companies have visited Soho, but no body of particular distinction. People now begin to come very frequent, and had but little to shew them till to day, as part of the vases are arrived at Soho and now unpack'd and in the Toy Room, by which it is not a little garnish'd in shewy things, but there is much wanted in the toy way, &c. Persons in general cry out there's not the variety here that they have formerly seen or expected in the toy and trinket way! Whenever I have heard such remarks, I have made what apologies I could. I am glad to hear by Mr. F. that Mr. Stuart is coming, for there wants more attention paid to that room than I can possibly bestow. I am with the most perfect consideration, sir, your much obliged and most obedient humble servant, John Hodges Many enquire after papier buttons, say that Mr. Clay has vast quantities made by him, but none yet offer'd for sale.
