| Description | Dear Sir, I have been this morning with Mrs. Fothergill at Mr. Foreman’s, to whom she delivered a long narrative of the cause of difference, viz. his claim to the engine business, which I think very futile. However, if you will take the trouble to send your case, I think Mr. Foreman will be induced to advise Mrs. F. to accept your offer; but altho’ it is unseasonable to enter now on such particulars after what pass’d when I was at Birmingham, I wou’d have you send your relation of your connection with Mr. F. and shew his groundless claim to the engine. I shall the first opportunity in person tell you what hath pass’d on the subject here, which I suppose is congenial with your altercations on the subject at Birmingham. Send your answer soon to yours most sincerely, Wm. Matthews The box, I fear, will be too late. |
