Dear Sir,
I mention’d the subject of the account to Mr. Vere, who at first flew out upon the ungenerous conduct of removing it* after they had done so much to assist you, but he is now in very good humor about it; they are to write to Mr. Lowe, and when I have seen Mr. Williams I shall write you fully, being in the interim, dear sir, yours very affectionately,
Wm. Matthews
*which I told him wou’d be [an] alternative of their dissent to my proposals, which were what we agreed on, viz. £5000 . . .
4000 my account @ . . .
and guarantee 5000
C. Matthews desires her best respects to yourself and family.
