DescriptionLondon Octo. 17. 1800
My dear Sir,
I have this minute received your kind Letter of the 16. and write in haste-you know how much I wish to visit you-I am ready-I go to morrow to visit your Daughter in my road to Epsom-there I shall see Capt Brown & will deliver your Letter and urge as forcibly as I can a Visit to Soho from all the Party there-I did deliver your former Message to Miss Lucas who is extremely obliged to you, but declines your Kind Invitation this Year.
I sent Mr. Woodward on Tuesday Evening last to enquire after your Daughter & he brought me word that she was in very good Spirits-& seem'd to have much more confidence in Mr. Cline's Opinion than she had-before, and the Alarms that she had entertain'd were dissipated- in short from all I cou'd collect she was much better.
Adieu! Believe me at all times & under all Circumstances most faithfully & Affectly. Yours
C Matthews
