Date20 January 1766
Description[I was in hopes of being able to give you favourable tidings about the East India White Copper [Tutenag], but Capt. Cotton and Capt. Rowland were ordered away sooner that they expected. I am glad the business which called you away so precipitately into the country, is likely to meet with success. There are strong reports of Mr. Pitt coming in again: he is strong against the American Stamp Act. The export of Coin is to be prohibited, and the importation of it from America, permitted.]
