Description(2 pcs)
[I shall be happy on my arrival in town to find that Dumourier has not enlisted you in his Regiment of Sans Coulots and that you have received your portmanteau. In consequence of an application from some silversmiths at Liverpool to the Birmingham Assay Office, praying the day of Assaying be changed, we lost one whole day by the silver articles, ordered by your father, lying in the Office, and thereby I was prevented from sending them as soon as I promised. All are now sent to Mr. Chippindall except the large Waiter which is not quite finished but will be by the end of the week. As you had some thoughts of retaining the Rout Cake Basket for your own use, and as I do not wish the things I have added, sans ordre, to be taken without being approved, I have sent them to Chippindall where they may be examined, and such as are approved, repacked and sent to your order. Everything originally ordered, is sent, except a Coffee Pot and small Waiter. I fear the Cake Basket will prove too small for a Bread Basket for Banstead, but it might serve a little man with a little family in a little house, for both purposes.]
