Dear Sir
I intended before you went to London to have spoke to you upon the subject I am going to trouble you with at present, but I unfortunately sprained my Foot about a fortnight since & have not yet been able to stir out;-My Mother having now determined to leave Handsworth before Winter, if she can find a purchaser for the House,-& as you have the refusal of it will thank you to inform whether you have consulted with your Son, (for whom I understand you mean it) or can make up your mind respecting if soon;-When I had the pleasure of seeing you last, I mentioned a valuation wch had been put upon it, (viz: 2220£) & also that she was then in no immediate hurry for an answer, but our Family is now so very small, that my Mother would find it extremely lonely to pass the Winter;-for the nature of my future engagements will permit me to spend but little of my Time at this place; you may therefore imagine how unpleasant it will be if she is so much by herself,-On these Accts & having had some indirect applications for the House,-in the event of your declining it, she might (if delayed long) lose an opportunity of disposing of it,-she therefore, requests you will be kind enough to let her know your decision as soon as you conveniently can,-I know your business in London will engross the whole of your Attention but all circumstances considerd I trust you will not think we are pressing upon you too much.
I am
Sir
Yr mo obt: Sert
