We had hopes of sending the Coffee pot by this mornings coach; in the same condition as the other we have sent, but one misfortune happening after another deprived us, it was only finishd from Dumee yesterday, after which Duval had the handle to soder on and a peice in each hand of the figures where Dumee had mad a blunder in the chasing, having made the women holding up their hands without touching the festoons and upon the whole them 2 figures are so badly done that Eginton doubts whether they must not be taken off again it was twelve at night before Duval had done and then it was to repair in all the sodering places which cou'd not be done in time for the coach if it had; the cover was not made, the ground work is very rough and cou'd not have been boild white; so that upon the whole the appearance of it in its present condition wou'd not answer so good a purpose as the drawing.
Since Baker was turnd away Jno. Reading has taken it into his head to go also; and behaves like a dirty sc-r-l he means to take all the hands with him that he can, but I think it is a luckey hit for you to get quit of them all together, for we can do very well without them, we can keep the best burnishers and the rest let him take, Kitt can plate the metal or Jas. Ferguson can also plate, & Kitt may keep to Jno Readings work and Parker can do Bakers work, so that we can do very well without them. I have lookd over the Cash that has been paid Little Jno. & Baker for 3 years past by which it appears that Baker has got £2 16. 3 per week upon an average & Little Jno has got £3..0..0 per week, Baker & Little Jno are to join in partnership and 'tis said that Esqr Taylor is to employ them.
