Sir
Herewith you have a Chain which I think not unlikely to sell, it will do very well at £4..4s..0¼d. if we cou'd make quantities they might be sold for less, but as we cannot, I think the price had better be kept up.
J Harrison has made a machine for grinding the concaves which I think almost perfection it is just as you describd, both lap and button in motion; I saw him rough grind the first to night, tomorrow he will begin the stud machine. DuMee has just finishd chasing the first Coffee pot so soon as Duval has smoothd the ground it shall be boild and sent. I shewd Mr Ingram the metal bottoms to the gilt and plated buttons which he lik'd very much, shoud we send any out on Cards do you think?
have now sent you 3 steel Buttons as samples & Shall send you compleat cards of gilt plated & platina & Steel on sunday night the Dutchess of Ancasters girondoles I beleive will be sent on saturday next.
