Description[The report is that [Thomas] Williams is going to serve the town of Birmingham with Gilding Metal altogether and for that purpose he has engaged both Dobb’s and Westwood’s Mills to roll for him. Charles Wyatt is engaged in the late Mr. Welch’s place [Anglesea Warehouse in Birmingham] at £200 per an. Westwood is going to make some addition to his Mill at Whitton on account of his engagement with Williams. Francis Eginton bids me say that before you should be at a loss for a Die-sinker, he will with pleasure exert his utmost abilities for you in that way, and he flatters himself that he can equal either the Crown Piece [of Droz] or the boasted Druid’s Head [Hancock]: he says if you do get the Coinage he should be sorry to have the Swiss Parisian [Droz] come over until you have convinced the folks that you own pupils are able to make a Die, but indeed as it is, you may tell them that the "best coin in Europe" was done by one who spent the whole of his better days in your own manufactory.]
