Colonel Fullerton, London.
Soho, 31 March 1794.
Dear Sir,
We have been favoured with your esteemed favour and the inclosed beating orders, and shall be happy to afford you every assistance in our power towards the attainment of your object; but as you know this is not much in our way, you are not to judge of our desire of serving you from any ill success that may attend our endeavours in this instance. We do not at present know or recollected any fit person in Birmingham to be entrusted with the business, but we shall make the necessary enquiries and inform you of the result; we do not apprehend that much good can be done without your presence, or that of some active person, there being at present upwards of thirty recruiting parties in Birmingham. We beg you will excuse the liberty in replying to yours, and the shortness of this, as we have been for this week past at the Assizes at Stafford and are but just returned, and confused with a variety of business. We remain, &c.
