| Description | Dear Friend, With this I send: Copy of a letter I wrote to Mr. Mackenzie the 28th ultimo. Copy of an advertisement of Mr. Hog's for the sale of some Carron stock. Copy of an advertisement which in consequence of Mr. Hog's, which I have directed to be inserted in the Edinburgh news papers. Copy of a speech made by the President in the Court of Session upon a hearing of Mr. Selkrig's arrestment of Carron stock standing in my name, and which was assigned to you and Mr. Baxter under the commission of bankruptcy against me. Mr. Hog, by selling Carron stock under the value at which it stands in the Company's books, effectually counteracts the plan I had formed for an amicable final close of my affairs. But now upon the whole I think it would be injudicious in me to oppose the sale, and therefore I promote it, as you will see by my advertisement. God bless you. I am ever gratefully and affectionately yours, Samuel Garbett
