DescriptionDear Friend,
It did not occur to me when I wrote to you last night that I had a clean copy of letters I wrote to Mr. Home and Mr. Gascoigne on the subject of a discharge for Mr. Gascoigne from his creditors, which I send you with this to keep as a record.
On the 9th current Messrs. Stevenson & Salt wrote to me that in Took's (or Tock's) Account of Russia, Vol. 3, p. 420, 421, it is said that 'in the Goverment of Olmutz is a grand cannon foundery under the management of Charles Gascoigne, esqr., at a salary of 30,000 rubles per annum, where iron cannon are cast of excellent workmanship by means of a cupola furnace.'
I rejoyce to hear good accounts of your health.
I am ever yours,
Samuel Garbett
