Description[Press-copy.]
My dear Friend,
Yesterday evening I met Mr. Alston on the Common, who inform'd me that you had been a little feverish and unwell for some days past and had put yourself under the care of Dr. Pearson.
I was consequently the more happy when I found you eating with apparant appetite and comfort, and could not find in my heart to rob you of one of those moments, but took my departure without performing the most painfull task that ever fell to the lot of your friend.
I have known the strength and fortitude of your mind on many trying occasions, and I pray to God to support you on the present.
I refer you to the melancholy contents of the inclosed and remain for ever and ever your truly faithfull and affectionate friend,
Mattw. Boulton
I will write to you as often as you wish and render you every comfort in my power.
